A town about 26 km NNE of the town of Coffs Harbour. Boundaries within the Coffs Harbour Council area shown on map GNB3749.
Meaning
From Wee-gullga the name of a native plum which grew between the bay and the lake. This plum was about the size of ones thumb say two inc Also: probably derived from Yaygir weilgulga for the red lilly pilly Acmena brachyandra. (Appleton; 1992).
