History
Nominated by Neville Davis of Parramatta Councils Parks Division. Although there is no direct connection of Frazer with this area his name relates to the theme of horticulture.
Description
A reserve on the eastern side of Kenilworth Road between Friendship Street and Warwick Road Dundas Valley. It occupies Lot 1339 of DP 32025.
Origin
Charles Fraser (1788? - 22.12.1831) came to Australia whilst serving in the 56th Regiment. A gardener he was appointed colonial botanist and accompanied Oxley and Bigge on their expeditions. Thirty-one Thirty-one species of plants have been named in his honour. (Aust Dictionary of Biography vol. 1 pp. 416-17) For spelling see file.
