Description
An island situated on the Myall River in the suburb of Tea Gardens.
Origin
In 1913 Henry Engel took out a lease on the island so he could construct a large slipway on which to build substantial boats. This provided employment for a large group of local men from the Tea Gardens area. The island was commonly known as Slip Island. (Source: Rex Hill)
