History
The small quiet beach was once primarily used for oyster farming. The leases were bought out by the Cromarty Village Development who planned open public access onto the beach through Pearson Park.
Description
A beach on the western shore of Soldiers Point in Port Stephens. It extends from Pearson Park in the south approximately 567metres in a northerly direction to a point adjacent to Resthaven Avenue.
Origin
Named by the Soldiers Point/Salamander Bay Parks Reserves and Halls Committee of Council. The beach and adjacent park is a popular area for families to picnic and witness the spectacular sunset.
