Description

A channel about 3 km long. It is on the S side of Long Island and flows into the Hawkesbury River. This stretch of water was formerly a narrow channel between Long Island and Brooklyn before it was cut off at the eastern end by the railway embankment.

Origin

Named at the request of residents to honour the late Edgar Alexander Sanbrook.Dr Sanbrook worked in the Brooklyn district for 38 years and was also the medical officer for the Peat and Milson Islands Mental Hospitals. He was held in high regard by people who lived along the Hawkesbury River.
