History
Henty was the birthplace of Headlie Shipard Taylor 1883-1957 one of the most prolific inventors of farm machinery who ever lived. Post Office changed name to Henty from Doodle Cooma in Dec. 1886.

A town located about 10 km W of Cookarbine Hill and about 3 km WNW of Wongamere Swamp. It is almost midway between Albury-Wodonga and Wagga Wagga. Boundaries within the Lockhart Council area shown on map GNB3780. Boundaries within the Greater Hume Council area shown on map GNB3775.
