History
Nominated by Mr W B Larkin Hon Secretary Ermington Chambre of Commerce in response to the Councils community consultation regarding the names of reserves.
Description
A reserve located along the northern bank of Parramatta River between Brodie Street and Subiaco Creek. It occupies Lot 102 of DP 622959.
Origin
Phillip Schaeffer (1750 - 1828) came to the Colony to act as an overseer. As his English was not good and he had farming he did not remain an overseer but in 1791 was settled on land at Parramatta. Later he was granted land at Field of Mars. (Flynn M `The Second Fleet - Britains Grim Convict Armada of 1790`)
