History
Name recorded on the 1936 map of the County of Bland.
Description
A watercourse about 14 km long rising 6 km north of Northcote trig station and flowing generally east into Trigalong Creek.
Origin
Believed to be named after early settlers in the area. John Sproule fought at Waterloo. He married Frances St Clare Holmes and they came to Australia in 1843. John Sproule died in the Victorian gold diggings and Frances took up Temora Station in 1856. (G McGeorge President Temora Historical Society and `Temora Yesterday and Today`)
