A city on the Murray River located about 120 km S by W of Wagga Wagga and about 290km WNW of Bega.
Meaning
Aldbury is understood to mean old fort.
Origin
Believed to have been named after Aldbury in Hertfordshire. The d was later dropped to become Albury. Previously known as The Crossing Place and Sleepy Hollow (Border City: William A Bayley).
