History
Following a proposal by Hume Shire Council and with the concurrence of the Murray Darling Basin Commission the name was changed to Lake Hume on the 2 Aug 1996.
Description
Waters of the Murray River impounded by Hume Dam.
Origin
Following representations from the Municipal Council of Albury. the River Murray Commission agreed on the 17 Feb 1920 that it would be appropriate in honour of the explorer Hume whoin company with Hovell first crossed the Murray near the site of the Upper Murray Storage in 1824 that this storage be named the Hume Reservoir.
