George Gollan Reserve (RESERVE), NSW Details
History
Name approved by Baulkham Hills Council on 30 August 1960 at request of Mayor of Parramatta in recognition of services rendered by Mr Gollan particularly his efforts in having this area set aside.
Description
A reserve in the suburb of Oatlands bounded by Gowan Brae Avenue Prindle Street Phillip Street Alanas Avenue and the boundaries of lots with frontages on Gollan Avenue. it occupies Lot A of DP 36040.
Origin
George Charles Gollan (c1886 Ballina - 4.1.1957) represented Parramatta in the Legislative Assembly for 20 years as a member of the United Australia Party and later Liberal Party. Was Member for Parramatta when it was made a city in 1938.
