History
Name is said to have been bestowed by the district surveyor A.C. Betts on 2 February 1881 when Betts S.G. Adams and his daughter and Jas. M. Betts ascended the summit. (Andrews 1991 p 172)

A locality 1 km ESE of Charlotte Pass (Saddle) and 1 km S of Mount Guthrie. Both listed in localities list.
