Tamarama Gully (GULLY), NSW Details
History
Name appeared on Bondi second edition topographic map but was never presented to the Geographical Names Board. Waverley Council confirmed this name in its letter of 15 December 1999.
Description
A gully rising about 1 km east southeast of Waverley Reservoir (Trig. Station) and 500 m north west of Tamarama Beach. It flows generally south east for about 210 m until it peters out where it meets Pacific Marine Drive.
Origin
`A map of the coastline in the 1860s by the Military or Naval Authority showed the name as `Gamma Gamma` probably a native name`. (Dowd BT Centenary of Waverley 1859-1959). Letter from Waverley Council 15 December 1999.
