Mead Gully (GULLY), NSW Details

History

The name was proposed by Keith Paull of Woy Woy in response to the Mangrove Mountain Bicentennial Naming Project. (Paull K of Woy Woy naming proposal form dated 27 June 1997)

Description

A gully which runs from an area 4.4 km SE of Mount McLeod and 5.2 km SW of Mangrove Mountain Post Office. It is 1 km in length and flows in a generally south-westerly direction.

Origin

This watercourse is opposite the home of Michael Mead an old resident. Many of the people from the area were married in his house. (Douglass A born 1896 of Wyong Nursing Home naming proposal form 27 June 1997). Anglican Church records show that Albert and Sarah Craft were married at Meads house in 1881. (Paull K letter 11 February 1999)
