check url hash using javascript

What is a url hash?

This is a URL Hash.

You can add the # symbol on the end of a url and content after it, and this will not effect the content usually, unless the browser is intructed to do something with it.

The following code shows how to check for a url hash using javascript.

checks if the current url has a # in it

For testing you will need to add a # and some content to the url, like this one : https://kruxor.com/view/code/uQWUB/#i-am-a-url-hash

After fixing another error, and loading that url, it works now and can see the url hash in the console.

Javascript

/* A basic check for the url hash - this example does nothing with the hash data */
if(window.location.hash) {
  // url has a hash
} else {
  // url does not have a hash
}

/* Lets console log the result of the hash if there is one */
/* If there is a hash on the url this should log the content to the console of the browser */
if(window.location.hash) {
  console.log(window.location.hash);
}

The problem with hoarding is you end up living off your reserves. Eventually, you’ll become stale. If you give away everything you have, you are left with nothing. This forces you to look, to be aware, to replenish. . . . Somehow the more you give away, the more comes back to you.
