History

It was laid by surveyor John James Galloway who had been instructed in 1849 to prepare a design of the town of Wellingrove. (Atchison 1976).

A town about 13 km E of Matheson and about 14 km SSE of Reddestone. Boundary shown on map GNB3764. Boundaries within Severn Council area shown on map GNB3802. Boundaries within Severn Council assigned 27 October 1995.
