History
In December 1997 Cr Greg Best of Wyong Council proposed that the beach be renamed to honour the men who lost their lives. (`Sun Weekly` 11 December 1997)

A beach at Norah Head about 200 metres NW of Norah Head Lighthouse.
Origin
This name commemorates the seven mariners who lost their lives on 5 December 1940 when the ship struck a mine off Norah Head. The boat was the first Australian merchant ship to be sunk by German action on Australias east coast. (`Sun Weekly` 11 December 1997)
