History
In December 1997 Cr Greg Best of Wyong Council proposed that the cove be named to honour the men who lost their lives. (`Sun Weekly` 11 December 1997)

A cove at Norah Head about 100 metres SW of Norah Head Lighthouse.
Origin
This name commemorates the merchant mariners who died when MV Nimbin an SS The Iron Chieftain struck mines off Norah Head in 1940 and 1942. The Nimbin was the first Australian merchant ship to be sunk by German action on Australias east coast. (`Sun Weekly` 11 December 1997)
