A major trigonometrical station on Moan Mount about 1.6 km north east of Mount Lorimer and about 4 km west south west of Mount Palmer . TS6785
Meaning

Origin
The name was first used as the name of a peak on the Liverpool Range and is shown on Robert Dixons map of N.S.W. 1837 as Mooan. The peak was named Moan or Mt. MacArthur and this form appeared on the map of County Buckland of 1877.. The parish was formed between 1862 and 1877 and was named after the
