History
The buffer zone for the explosives area was created in 1908. After the Bantry Bay explosives area ceased functioning the land was transferred from Mines to Lands department in 1973 buffer zone given to Council.
Description
A reserve in Cammaray Road Castle Cove bounded by that road H C Press and Robb reserves and the shores of Middle Harbour. It is covered by undisturbed bushland and occupies portions 45 47 49 50 and 1215 of DP 752067.
Origin
The reserve was a buffer zone to an explosives storage area which was situated across the other side of Middle Harbour at Bantry Bay. Public access was prohibited to this zone.
