History
Name submitted by Mrs Martin through the Mangrove Mountain Districts Community Group. Supported by Darkinjung Aboriginal Counci Gosford Council Forests and NP&WS. Long standing name.
Description
A gully which starts at a point 1.4 km E by S of Basalt Hill and 3.7 km S by W of Koree Trigonometrical Station. It is 2.0 km in length and flows in a generally southerly direction to its confluence with Warre Warren Creek.
Origin
Briese was the name of the original family who settled in this area. They owned a citrus orchard.
