Koala Gully (GULLY), NSW Details
History
The name was submitted by Mr L Donovan through the Mangrove Mountain Districts Community Group. Supported by Darkinjung Aboriginal Council Gosford Council Forests and NP&WS.
Description
A gully of about 1 km in length. It starts at a point 2 km SE of Mount Boyne and 5.8 km NNW of Mount White. It runs in a north westerly and then westerly direction into Ironbark Creek.
Origin
In the early 1990s this area abounded with koalas. There are Aboriginal carvings of koalas with their young in the vicinity. The area was believed to have been a koala breeding area.
