Description
A major perennial tributary of Salisbury Waters. The stream has its source at the junction of the Ben Lomond Range with the Great Dividing Range near Ben Lomond. The name Ryanda Creek has been assigned from the source until the wall of the Guyra No 2 dam. The name Gara River has been assigned to that length of the stream from below the wall of the Guyra No 2 Dam. The Gara River flows generally south for 70 km until its junction with Salisbury Waters about 24 km south east of Armidale.
