History
The name was given to the area when it was in the Armys control presumably by the Army.
Description
A reserve occupying Lot 966 of DP838463. It is bounded by Hamilton Birdwood and Bridges avenues Holsworthy.
Origin
The park is named after Corporal John Hurst Edmondson (1914-1941) the first soldier to be awarded a VC in the Second World War. He was a member of the 2/17 Battalion 9th Australian Division and died following a bayonet charge on an enemy position at Tobruk.
