History

Proclaimed village of Brunswick 20th March 1885 but known as Brunswick Heads. Brunswick River discovered in 1828 by John Rous in HMS Rainbow and named it after Queen Caroline of Brunswick.

Town on East Coast at the Brunswick River mouth about 13 km NNW of Byron Bay. Boundaries shown on map marked GNB 3744
