Named by Governor Lachlan Macquarie on 6th May 1815. He recorded in his Journal (cited above p. 100) This valley runs about 7 or 8 miles in length and from a quarter to half a mile in breadth with very fine

Description

A watercourse that receives the waters of Mitchells Creek and flows from about 5 km NNW of the locality of Kirkconnell. It flows generally W by N and NNW for about 49 km into the Macquarie River. Also lies in the County of Roxburgh & is a tributary of the Macquarie River. The course of the Winburndale is about 60 mls to its confluence with the Macquarie River (Hanson)
