Rosebank (LOCALITY), NSW Details
Description
A town W of Coopers Creek and about 3.5 km E by S of the village at Dorroughby. Boundaries within the Lismore Council area shown on map GNB3628.
Origin
Once called Boiboigar Bundjalung Buybuygah which refers to the native apple tree or angaphora. Its wood burns to a fine white ash which has resulted in some Aborigines transferring the name to white mans flour . The native apple tree has since disappeared from the area. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library. 1984).
