History
Paul Donnellys involvement with scouting SES and the Army was the background to many weekend adventure activities based in the area. Trail bike riding along the Donnelly Trail was a popular activity.
Description
A trail which encompasses the Quartz Creek gorge and Mann River areas about 12 km east of the locality of Shannon Vale. The trail circuit passes the western face of Donnellys Rock and is approximately 23 km in length.
Origin
Donnelly Trail commemorates the lives of four Donnelly family members Michael Leonard Donnelly OAM (18.6.09 - 28.7.91; Brian Michael Donnelly (2.5.43 - 11.2.88); Lance Cedric Donnelly (25.7.41 - 12.2.00) and Spr Paul David Donnelly (8.2.74 - 7.1.93). Brian and Lance constructed a big section of the trail to enable livestock access.
