Description
A locality about 800m NNE of Dunns Hill and about 3.9 km NE of Selwyn Trig. Station and within the Kosciuszko National Park. The site of a gold rush in 1860. Mining operations had ceased by 1903. Snowy Saga Snowy River Shire 2nd ed 1960.
Meaning
Corruption of Aboriginal Gianderra for sharp stones for knives. (From Snowy Saga; P.10). Also: sharp stones used for knives. (McCarthy; 1963).
Origin
