History
The creek crossing was extremely dangerous. Settlers often having to be accommodated by the Corby family who lived nearby until the water level receded.

A watercourse about 7.5 km long. It rises about 4 km south of the Freemantle Nature Reserve and flows generally SE E and NE into the Macquarie River.
Origin
Named after the Corby family who took up land in the Freemantle area in 1930 when the Freemantle Estate was subdivided under closer settlement.
