Description
A hill in the West Boundary Range 1.2 km SW of Black Mt.
Meaning
The hill served as a beacon or a beacon was once erected upon it.
Origin
The hill is situated very nearly on the production of the southern boundary of the Aust. Agricultural Companys Warrah grant and in the days of survey of this grant the hill either was beaconed or itself served as a beacon presumably. No record of the name has been located prior to 1877 when it appears on the county maps.
