History
Name given in 1964-65 by Mayor Alan Lawrence.
Description
A reserve bounded by Forest Rd Isaac St and Pindari Rd Peakhurst. It occupies Lot 1 of DP 218572 Lot 2 of DP 218466 Lot 2 of DP 226009 Lot 118 of DP 567307 Lot 49 of DP 209573 and Lot 157 of DP 210867.
Origin
In 1850 Michael Gannon (1800 - 1881) purchased 1950 acres of land in Hurstville then known as Lords Forest. By 1853 the area was known as Gannons Forest. From 1876 it was renamed Hurstville. Gannon had a timber cutting businesses in the area but never lived there. (Hurstville Council letter 1992 and facsimile of 1997)
