Name derived from ridge which was named Pine Ridge from the pine forest on the ridge.

First record of the name seen is in boundary description of Mcoki Hawkesbury Benev. Society. G.G. 1848 page 1240. Pine Ridge is a descriptive name dating from squatting days.
