History

It is believed that in 1908 a group of residents bought land from James Taylor combined it with adjoining land and deeded it to Ku-ring-gai Shire so that there would be a permanent public lookout.

Description

A reserve situated on the southern side of the Pacific Highway and on the eastern side of the railway line where the highway crosses the railway line near Turramurra Railway Station. The land comprises part DP 64313.

Meaning

Proclaimed a public park on the 23 June 1909. From 1909 to 1977 the park was known variously as The Lookout The Lookout Park Lookout Park or Turramurra Lookout. To commemorate the Silver Jubilee Year Council had the name changed to Queens Park.
