Description
An historic area comprising approx. 7 square kilometres bounded generally by Guntawong Road Withers Road Mungerie Road Merriville Road and Cudgegong Road in the suburb of Rouse Hill. Located in The Hills Shire Council and Blacktown City Council areas.
Origin
Named after an uprising on 5 March 1804 by mainly Irish rebel convicts that occurred in this area against the NSW Corps. The battle site had similarities to a rebellion of the same name in Ireland in 1798.
