Clark Island (ISLAND), NSW Details

Description

An island on Port Jackson about 1 km SSW of Bradleys Head.

Origin

Named by surveyor Grimes in his field book of 1799. Clark Island appears to have been claimed as private possession by Lieut. Ralph Clark of the Marines who cast some light on the origin of the islands by writing it in his diary. Maritime Service Board. Port of Sydney Vol 9 No. 2 Sept 1965.
