Curtis Reserve (RESERVE), NSW Details
Description
A reserve located on the north-western side of River Road with access to Celia Parade and Renown Avenue Shoalhaven Heads. The reserve is shown as Lot 42 on DP 14490.
Origin
In the late 1940s the Curtis family began holidaying in area. They bought land in nearby Renown Avenue and Goldenhill Road. With friends and locals they worked hard to build the Progress Hall and a flight of steps to a swimming area. This was done freely. (Morrison L nee Curtis letter to Council) A street is named after the family.
