Description
A locality about 4km N by W of Black Mares Flat and about 5.5km N by E of Wells Trig Station.
Origin
An area around a permanent waterhole including freehold Portiens 12 34 & 5. Found to have been so named by shepherds who used siush lamps consisting of a wick in a tin of mutton fat. The wicks became hard with fat and were whacked or beaten to remove excess fat.
