Newell Creek (CREEK), NSW Details
Description
A partly perennial creek rising about 3 km north-east of Fosterton (village) and 1 km south of Fosterton Trig. Station. It flows generally west then south-west for about 3 km to its confluence with Die Happy Creek.
Origin
Named after the Newell family John (......1811-......1892) and Andrew (......1818-......1903) being early landowners. Had a keen interest in community particularly church and schools descendants of the family still live in the Dungog area. (Information supplied by William Myles Lean on 25 November 1999).
