History

The reserve is the former site of Lake Cathie Caravan Park. The latter name was not a recorded or assigned name. The name Jonathan Dickson was nominated by his family.

Description

A reserve at Lake Cathie bounded on the north by Kywong Street on the south-west by the rear boundaries of houses on the south by Miolong Street and on the south-east by Lake Cathie. It occupies Lot 7015 of DP 754444.

Origin

The name commemorates Jonathan Dickson (14.05.1974 - 31.12.1988) who was caught in a rip at the beach and whose body was never recovered. The family who come from Quakers Hill started camping in the reserve some twenty-eight years ago. (Dickson K and A Jonathans parents letter received by Hastings Council 22 January 1998)
