Description
A perennial stream rising in the Belmore Swamp about 11.2 km E by S of Kempsey. It flows generally N by W for about 12.8 km into the Macleay River at Gladstone.
Origin
In 1870 Darkwater Creek became known as the Belmore River to commemor ate the visit to the district of the Governor of N.S.W. the Earl of Belmore. Valley of the Macleay Page 58.
