History
On July 17 1998 the Premier of NSW announced Mullion Range State Recreation Area as one of eight new parks to be administered by National Parks and Wildlife Service.
Description
A reserve within Canobolas Regional Park about 7 km NE by N of the locality of Summer Hill Creek and about 6 km SE by E of the village of Mullion Creek. It occupies an area of 1020 hectares 10 km NE of Orange extending south from the northern boundary of Lot 82 of D P 46487 to parts of the Ophir Road then west to Mullion Creek being the western boundary of Por 57 in the Parish of Lewis.
Origin
The name appears to be derived from those of the State forest and the Crown Reserve 81412 which it is proposed to replace.
