Name nominated by Neville Davis of Parramatta Councils Parks Division. Park had previously been known as Wylde Park but this was not official.

Description

A reserve extending from the southern side of Wylde Street to the northern side of Robert Street at Telopea. It occupies Lot 1 of DP 500361 Lot 3 0f DP 204492 and lots 2 3 and 5 of DP 216728.

Origin

Elizabeth Macarthur (1767? - 1750) was the first educated woman in the Colony and wife of John Macarthur army lieutenant. They received a land grant at Parramatta in 1793. She took an active role in the agricultural horticultural and pastoral pursuits at Elizabeth Farm. (Kass T Liston C McClymont J 1996 Parramatta - A Past Revealed)
