David Joel (2.12.1917 - 11.5.1996) was a pioneer of the film industry. He served in the AIF in WWII and was the longest serving councillor on Wollahra Council. He was involved in the support and direction of Australian film projects and publications and an essential contributor to the Australian film industry.
