Dellrill Creek (CREEK), NSW Details
History
First appeared on 1973 topographic map although deferred for confirmation of spelling. Bega Valley Council in 1999 have confirmed use and spelling although historical society believes Dellrill.
Description
A non perennial creek rising from a point 6 km south of Bega (town) and 4 km WSW of Jellat Jellat (locality). It flows in a generally north westerly direction for 3.7 km to its confluence with Bega River.
Origin
Named after the property Dellrill owned by a Colonel Jackson prior to World War I. A magnificent home which was demolished in the 1940s the site is still evident from a stand of mature pine trees. (The Bega Valley Historical Society letter of 2 March 1999).
