Description

A village about 20km SSW of the town of Binnaway and about 6 km W by S of Mooren Trig Station. Boundaries within the Coolah Council area shown on map marked GNB 3751

Origin

Name suggested by Merrygoen Progress Association in 1917 soon after the railway line had gone through and the Post office would not accept the construction name Lochneil. This is a hybrid name which honours Rex McNeil who served in WWI. For more information refer to the Newsletter of the Royal Australian Historical Society Jan-Feb 1977.
