Meaning
Also: could be derivation from njimbun which has a primary meaning of goblin a diminutive and sometimes malicious spirit which inhab- ited mountains and rocky country. (Ryan. 1964). Also: pointed rock; a big stone. (McCarthy. 1963).
Origin
Aboriginal. For: big stone or place of many rocks. The late Mr James Morgan grandson of King Morgan differred in his meaning. His grandfather said it was a place where dwells a man in a mountain - a man with a long beard he was a human being. (Richmond River Historic Society).
