North Bluff (BLUFF), NSW Details
History
The feature is very conspicuous and the name so clearly descriptive that the name was probably in use from the days of first settlement. No record of this has however been found.
Description
A headland about 2 km east-south-east of the Town of Spring Ridge and about 7 km north-north-east of Binnie Trigonometrical Station.
Meaning
A bluff or cliff like termination of ridge at north end of ridge.
Origin
The bluff is so named on the 1877 county map. This is the earliest record of use of the name which has been seen. (The name is not on later coutny maps.)
