Little Oaky Creek (STREAM), NSW Details
History
A creek of N.S.W.in the district of Liverpool Plains. On this stream is the station of J.Handford. (Wells Gaz. 1848.p.325) This may not be the correct Oakey Creek.
Description
A non perennial stream rising between Flaggy and Split Yard Mountain and running due West to its confluence with Maules Creek at a point north east and 41 km by road from Boggabri.
Origin
Obviously named after the casuarina treeeither the Belah (casuarina cristata)or the Bull Oak (casuarina luchmannii) both known as oaks.
