Fotheringham Gully (GULLY), NSW Details
History
The name was proposed by Philip Woodbury of Lower Mangrove in response to the Mangrove Mountain Proposal Bicentennial Naming Project. (Pontifex M naming proposal 5 July 1997)
Description
A gully which runs from an area N by W of Haycock trigonometrical station and 2.2 km SW of the SE corner of Por 79. It flows for 2.5 km in a NE direction into Dinner Creek.
Origin
This name commemorates the original inhabitants in the area. They lived there over 100 years ago and the gully has been known as Fotheringham Gully ever since. (Woodbury P of Lower Mangrove naming proposal form 5 July 1997)
